Finding The Forest Show

Forest Floor is a piece created for the Finding The Forest art show at the Schaefer Gallery running from January 26 – March 30th 2013. In this piece the white trees, which are invasive Wattle trees, hang from the ceiling and light up from the center. Underneath you can see an enlarged slightly abstract of some of the things you might find on the floor of the forest – including opossum cells, lichen, tree fungus, tree virus, Mycelium and female human sex cells….

Dragon Trellis is currently on loan to Mayor Alan Arakawa’s Office at the County Building.

This large piece is edged in dyed antique Japanese kimono silk and hanging from bamboo.

I want to thank everyone who came to my open studio in February. I think almost 200 people showed up over two days! As promised, here is a picture of the group piece many of you had a hand in. It has been steamed and washed. Very colorful – good job! Many of you are budding silk painters and I am planning on starting classes soon, both group and solo.
